Least of the brethren....

Matthew 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Today the girls were outside a lot and got a work on the tree house with their dad. It was time for bed and their feet were very dirty. So I did what I usually do and got a washcloth with soap and water and started washing Zoe's feet. What she said warmed my heart and blessed me so much. She said, "Mommy, you are just like Jesus! You are washing my feet like he washed the disciples feet!" I just smiled and said, "that's right!" I am so blessed! I have such a wonderful vocation.
    Some days it seems like all you are doing is disciplining and teaching over and over again. It is so nice when you hear the Word coming out of them, no matter how small. The Lord has given us such a wonderful life as mothers.

After 6:00 in the evening Sunday 90 degrees outside!

I am home.

I am blessed to have a very high calling. This calling is called being "Home". Being a mother is the definition of being "home", but not in the literal sense all the time. It is not the place that you are in that makes you home. YOU are the PLACE. A mother should be the one who all can gather around and receive the word to go back to their vocations encouraged and strengthened. She is the one who empowers her children and husband in continual repentance and forgiveness. What a blessing that we have!      I get to repent and receive forgiveness from when I wake up in the morning and think of everything that didn't get done from the day before to night time when my newborn wants to be awake until sunrise. God is continually teaching me patience and long suffering. These are just a few fruits of the spirit that we get to enjoy daily. Noel ... one month old!
