Children: Marvels of God's Creative Omnipotence
An outstanding masterpiece of God! If a man could make a single rose, an empire should be given him. But, because of their commonness, innumerable gifts of God are not appreciated. We see that to all people God gives children, the fruit of the body, similar to their parents. A farmer may have three, four sons that look as much like him as peas in a pod resemble on another. All these marvels are disregarded because they are common. Yet is is not a trivial matter, even according to the heathen, that sons are born who resemble their parents.... The Greek would put the wish into their curses that one's children might not resemble their parents.
